How to transfer files to NOOK HD Tablet?

To transfer Apps, Books, Music, Videos, Newsstand, Audiobooks, Photos, or Docs libraries to your Nook HD or HD+ tablet, process as follows:

1. Using the custom microUSB cable provided with your Nook tablet, connect your Nook HD/HD+ to your PC/Mac computer.

2. When you connect Nook tablet to a Windows PC, the PC might display a dialog box asking if you want to install a driver for a “Nook”. Click Cancel to close this dialog box. You don’t need to install a special drive to transfer files to your Nook tablet.

3. When you connect Nook tablet to a Mac, your Nook will appear as a new disk drive on your computer desktop. Drag the file you want to transfer onto the “MyNook” drive.

4. Open the “MyNook” drive and you’ll see several folders. Move your personal files in the My Files folder. Within the folder, you can sort files into these folders:

  • Books
  • Documents
  • Magazines
  • Music
  • Newspapers
  • Photos
  • Videos
  • Wallpapers

Put your media contents in their proper folders. When you have finished arranging files, eject the “MyNook” drive on your PC/Mac and disconnect the microUSB cable.

In most cases, it doesn’t matter where you place a particular type of file because the NOOK Tablet will sort it out for you. Files in picture format will appear in the gallery; videos will appear in the video player. But it does make your NOOK Tablet nicely organized.

And one more thing: You can create your own folder on the tablet, using the Make Folder (or equivalent) command on your computer, and use it to store files of your choice.
